Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we receive your account identifier and profile name from Clerk, our authentication provider. As you use the app, we store your lesson progress, practice history, scores, and the text recognised from your pronunciation attempts.

When you start a pronunciation attempt, your browser asks for permission to use your microphone. The resulting audio recording and the phrase you are practising are sent to our pronunciation-scoring service so that we can return feedback.

We use this information to operate the app, authenticate your account, score pronunciation attempts, save your learning progress, show your recent activity, prevent abuse, and improve the learning experience.

We use Clerk for authentication, Supabase for application data, and a hosted pronunciation-scoring service to process speech attempts. These providers may process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your personal information.

We retain account and learning-progress data for as long as it is needed to provide the service. We use reasonable technical safeguards and restrict application data to authenticated server requests, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

You can deny microphone access, although pronunciation scoring will not work without it. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting Aaron through the project's usual contact channel.

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date below will be revised when material changes are made.
